Catherine and Joe were so cool, you can tell by their easy smiles and awesomely comfortable wedding day checkered Vans. Catherine has a degree in Native American studies, so their ceremony included a special blanket ritual, which brought all the parents together along with the new couple, and an alder spit to roast the incredible salmon that was everyone’s dining delight. Yum by the way. We wanted to incorporate the country feel of Snohomish in the photos, so went off to McAuliffes Nursery to take advantage of their beautiful red barn and the rustic train tracks that live just across the street from there. Other fun photos props were the county’s Sheriff Posse Barn just down the road from the Bride’s house, where the ceremony and party took place. Her family is the owner of a wonderful wedding day rental company, so they had a really beautiful tent, but the day was really about enjoying their friends and having a great party. Hope Alaska is treating you both well, and thank you for introducing us to such a special view on a native ceremony.
